Germany’s great Cheddar Burger Challenge
Initial Situation
Cheddar cheese is the most popular type of cheese in the world and is also increasingly in demand here. With its mildly spicy taste and excellent melting properties, it is ideal for burgers – no wonder that many large burger restaurants also rely on this aromatic cheese.
Goal
It is precisely this trend that Kerrygold wants to take advantage of and occupy the topic.
Implementation
Together with XXL tester and barbecue expert Jumbo Schreiner from ProSieben Galileo, Kerrygold calls for the big “Cheddar Burger Challenge”. Burger fans and hobby cooks can apply with their favourite recipes and burger creations until 1 July 2018 at www.kerrygold.de. The best eight recipes will be presented live in front of a jury in Hamburg with Jumbo Schreiner, barbecue world champion Thorsten Brandenburg and Irish celebrity chef Shane McMahon. The winner will win a trip to Ireland for two persons including an overnight stay on a Kerrygold farm.
The Final
Germany’s best cheddar burger!
Out of more than 500 participants, the best eight Cheddar Burger recipe developers were allowed to present their burger creations live in front of the jury on the roof terrace of the Vier Jahreszeiten Hotel in Hamburg. Martin Fürst from Tiefenbach had clearly prepared the best cheddar burger in Germany. With his recipe “Double Cheeseburger with Cheddar, Bacon Jam and Smoked Tomato Chutney“, he convinced the jury and won the trip to Ireland.
The Results
More than 200 publications in relevant media were achieved nationwide during the pre- and follow-up reports. Top publications included RTL and Bild Zeitung. 30 media attend the live event.
